Road Reconstruction of Burleigh Avenue
The reconstruction of Burleigh Avenue started in October 2018 and was completed by January 2019. The City of Charles Sturt contracted us to narrow the existing road from 12m to 7.5m with a new kerb alignment to allow for the construction of a Shared Use Path on the northern side. The design incorporated the construction of 3 raised concrete intersections at Northgate Street, Harrison Road and Ormond Avenue.
Works also included the replacement of the footpath on the southern side, new driveways, upgrades to stormwater infrastructure including the installation of steel box culverts, new road pavement including 2 layers of road base and 40mm AC10 asphalt and finally preparing the area between the new kerb and property boundary for landscaping.
To successfully complete a job of this magnitude, Remo Contractors utilised a range of different machinery and tools including a Profiler, Grader, Kerb machines, Compaction Rollers and Excavators so that the works could be finished in the most efficient amount of time.
The completed works for this job were valued at approximately $1,200,00.00.
